Superstar Salman Khan and his ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif might work together again for an item song. According to recent reports, director Sawan Kumar has approached the ex-lovers to do a special item number for his movie. Rumour has it that director Sawan Kumar has asked Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan to perform an item song for the sequel of his 1983 hit film Souten. A source told a leading daily, "Sawan Kumar has been wanting to make Souten 2 from a very long time now. Lot of people thought that the sequel would never work out. But looks like there has been some progress on the project." The source further added that the film Souten is still remembered for giving many memorable tracks including 'Shayad meri shaadi ka khayal', but the sequel altogether will have a different kind of music.
According to reports, director of "Souten", Sawan Kumar Tak, has approached Salman and Katrina for the item song. "Souten" was a family drama starring Rajesh Khanna, Tina Munim, Padmini Kolhapure, Prem Chopra and Pran in lead roles.
